The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to take ownership and contribute beyond a narrowly defined set of responsibilities. Staff Accountant Responsibilities Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and post journal entries Complete balance-sheet and general-ledger reconciliations Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Support financial reporting and account analysis Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Help prepare schedules and documentation for audits Maintain fixed-asset and prepaid-expense schedules Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls Partner with other departments to research and resolve accounting questions Take on additional accounting responsibilities as the company grows Staff Accountant Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred One or more years of accounting experience preferred Understanding of general accounting principles and the month-end close process Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
