About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hematology/Oncology & BMT Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: 3+ years recent experience in Hematology/Oncology/BMT, level 1 trauma or similar size hospital required. License: RN license required Certifications: BLS required (AHA only), Chemo certification required Must-Have: Candidates must have recent experience in Heme/ONC/BMT, level 1 trauma or similar size hospital. Telemetry test must be passed prior to starting the position. Description: Provide care for acutely ill patients, including those undergoing bone marrow, stem cell transplant and cellular therapies, as well as patients at end of life. Patients on this unit have complex disease processes, including leukemia, lymphoma and solid tumor cancers, and often have complications such as Graft-Versus-Host Disease. Administer chemotherapy, assist with stem cell transplant procedures, and perform head to toe assessments for patients. Be involved in evidence-based therapies and research studies to improve patient outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical skills in managing chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, and port access. Ability to effectively communicate with patients and families to provide education and support is essential. Travelers must float as needed and be willing to take on varied patient care responsibilities. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.
