Business Systems Analyst (Data)

Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to partner with business stakeholders and development teams to deliver technology solutions that improve business processes and user experiences. This role is heavily focused on requirements gathering, process analysis, technical documentation, and data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who takes initiative, asks thoughtful questions, and enjoys digging into business problems to develop well‑defined technical requirements. Core Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements through stakeholder meetings and discovery sessions Analyze current business processes and recommend improvements that align with business objectives Create detailed functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and technical documentation that are ready for development Partner with development and QA teams to clarify requirements, answer questions, and support project delivery Research existing systems and processes to understand impacts and identify solution options Develop reports and dashboards that communicate business insights through meaningful data visualizations Participate in project planning, requirements reviews, and cross‑functional team meetings Support projects throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements through implementation Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) 3+ years of Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst experience Strong experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements Experience writing detailed technical requirements, user stories, and process documentation Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Experience working in Waterfall environments with exposure to Agile methodologies Experience creating data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau Ability to analyze business processes and recommend data‑driven solutions Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to interact with stakeholders across all levels Understanding of APIs and how system integrations support business processes Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice‑to‑Haves) Experience with Visio or Lucidchart for process mapping Experience working with cross‑functional development and QA teams Experience documenting functional designs and technical specifications Familiarity with Agile artifacts and ceremonies Experience using AI tools to improve research, documentation, or productivity Experience working across multiple organizations or industries Confident, proactive communicator who is comfortable asking questions and driving conversations Naturally curious and willing to investigate issues to find the right answers Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Detail‑oriented with the ability to produce high‑quality documentation Self‑starter who works independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Comfortable balancing technical details with business objectives Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $40.00 and $47.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
