Ophthalmic tech/medical receptionist

Part-Time Ophthalmic Technician / Medical Receptionist Location: Brick, NJ Schedule: Part-Time (20–24 hours per week) Are you friendly, organized, and passionate about providing outstanding patient care? Our busy, patient-focused optometry practice is looking for a Part-Time Ophthalmic Technician / Medical Receptionist to join our team. Experience in eye care is a plus but is not required —we are happy to train the right candidate. Responsibilities Welcome and check in patients with a friendly, professional attitude Schedule appointments and manage the daily appointment calendar Answer phones and assist patients with questions Perform patient pre-testing before the doctor examination (training provided) Learn and use our electronic medical records (EMR) system (training provided) Collect co-pays, payments, and balances due Prepare invoices and process patient transactions Verify vision and medical insurance benefits Submit insurance claims and assist with insurance-related tasks Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality Work collaboratively with the doctor and team to provide an exceptional patient experience Qualifications Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable using computers and learning new software Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and positive attitude Previous medical, dental, optical, or customer service experience is helpful but not required What We Offer Paid, on-the-job training Friendly and supportive work environment Opportunity to learn new skills in the healthcare field Part-time schedule (20–24 hours per week) Competitive hourly pay based on experience If you enjoy working with people, have a strong attention to detail, and are looking for a rewarding position in healthcare, we'd love to hear from you!
