Multifamily-Development Associate - Raleigh

Job Overview The right candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to the direct development of assigned projects and will assist the Managing Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Source and underwrite development opportunities Prepare pro‑formas and financial projections for potential development projects Conduct field investigations including rent studies, neighborhood analysis, land sales summary, and multifamily apartment sales data Manage zoning, entitlement, and permitting activities Perform underwriting process, including analysis of market information, operational expenses, and estimated hard and soft costs Establish project timelines and spending forecasts Compile components for investment packages Present development opportunities Coordinate with construction personnel to meet budget and timing targets Work with third‑party consultants on construction plans, entitlements, and financing Strategize with third‑party property management companies to maximize returns during lease‑up Support the development team in running the disposition process – preparing properties for sale, creating financial evaluations, selecting brokers, negotiating purchase and sale agreements, and working with buyers from due diligence through close Maintain communication and progress with local officials, brokers, and consultants Participate in decision making regarding product mix, parking, and design Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from a four‑year college or university Three to five years of related experience and/or training Proficiency in advanced Excel financial modeling Proficiency in Adobe Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral form or via DRH applications Proficiency with MS Office and email Preferred Qualifications Registered planner or engineer Experience with multifamily municipalities and entitlement Benefits Medical, Dental and Vision 401(k) Employee Stock Purchase Plan Flex Spending Accounts Life & Disability Insurance Vacation, Sick, Personal Time and Company Holidays Multiple voluntary and company‑provided benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr D.R.
