Position Associate or Full Professor (Ladder Rank/In‑Residence) – Chief, Division of Hematology & Cellular Therapy University of California, San Diego, San Diego, CA Employment Type: Full‑Time Annual Salary: $280,000 – $350,000 (negotiated annually). Additional compensation may be available under the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. About the Role The Department of Medicine at UC San Diego, in partnership with the Moores Cancer Center, is recruiting a Chief, Division of Hematology and Cellular Therapy. The successful candidate will lead a research program and oversee the transplant, cellular therapies, and benign and malignant hematologic disorders programs. The role includes teaching, mentoring, and, where appropriate, clinical care. Leadership & Collaboration The Chief will be a key member of the leadership teams at both the Department of Medicine and the Moores Cancer Center, working with faculty and university leaders to support integrated academic, research, and clinical missions. Qualifications MD or equivalent degree; or MD/PhD in Hematology. Minimum 5 years of experience leading a clinical, translational, or basic research program. Independent, extramurally funded research program (e.g., NIH R01 or similar). Minimum 5 years of publications in high‑impact journals and 5 or more grants/publications in Hematology and/or Cellular Therapy. Board certification or eligibility in Hematology or Hematology/Oncology and eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification.
