Position Overview Position title: Chief of Pediatric Urology Salary range: Base pay range $250,000 - $500,000. Salary negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available under the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. The University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, Department of Urology seeks an outstanding academic leader to serve as Chief of Pediatric Urology, leading a comprehensive Pediatric Urology program within a nationally recognized academic health system. The role will involve managing a diverse patient population, overseeing clinical care, teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and fostering excellence in research and education. Responsibilities The role will involve leading and advancing a comprehensive Pediatric Urology program, including management of a diverse and complex patient population drawn from a large regional referral base; coverage of Rady Children's Hospital; and central role in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows. The Chief will also be expected to foster excellence in clinical care, education, and research. Basic Qualifications MD or equivalent, or MD/PhD in healthcare related fields Eligibility for a California medical license or equivalent certification Completed a Urology residency program Completed a Pediatric Urology fellowship program Board-certified or board-eligible in Urology Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in complex reconstructive urology (spina bifida, cloaca, re-do hypospadias) Established pediatric urology research program Equal Opportunity Employer The University of California is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
