Our staff assert a team-centric approach to support our attorneys and cases, while maintaining a collegial culture where exceptional legal professionals want to work.About the RoleHall Prangle is seeking to hire a full-time legal assistant in its Carlsbad office who has at least four (4) years' experience as a litigation legal assistant. The legal assistant will be assigned to three attorneys and work collaboratively with them and the other staff to efficiently provide our clients with the best possible results. The right candidate will be skilled and hard-working as well as pleasant and personable.Responsibilities• Maintains attorneys' calendars.• Schedules court appearances, client meetings, depositions, and other engagements. Ensures there are no scheduling conflicts and notifies attorneys of pending deadlines.• Serves as intermediary between attorneys, firm personnel and the courts, relaying communications between each group.• Generates all correspondence.• Prepares and sends notices of filings, motions, and hearing to appropriate parties.• Creates and maintains client files, records, logs, and any other information in relation to case file.• Prepares and sends file correspondence to clients weekly with filings and status updates.• Finalizes and files/serves all Court pleadings and discovery.• Works with paralegals to ensure experts are retained and receive necessary documents.• Assist in managing daily operations including but not limited answering phone calls, greeting visitors, ordering office supplies, managing mail, and providing basic administrative support to keep our legal team running smoothly.What You Will Need To Succeed• 4+ years as a Legal Assistant within a law firm supporting attorneys practicing defense litigation.• Knowledge of concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures of the law.• Knowledge of functions and jurisdictions of local, state, and federal courts and related agencies.• Highly proficient using MS Office Suites: Word, Excel, Outlook, Billing Software, and On-Line Document Management Software. Experience with Milana and FileVine a plus.• Expertise in using Outlook Calendars for scheduling and maintaining attorneys' busy court schedules.• Experience in creating and maintaining documents, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, and copying; coordinating case preparation.• Experience in tracking billing hours through billing software.• Must be highly organized, able to multitask and juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.• Strong time management skills and strong attention to detail.• Excellent communication and organizational skills.Why Hall Prangle?Hall Prangle employees across the country demonstrate the firm's tireless commitment to excellence.
