Job Description
Title: Registered Nurse - Med-Surgical/Stepdown

Schedule:
- Every other weekend

Assignment Details:
- Daily census: 28 patients
- Ratios: 4:1 days, nights, weekends

Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- GA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with telemetry/cardiac monitoring, post-MI and post-cath care
- Skills in managing cardiac/vasoactive drips and insulin drips
- Proficiency in IV starts and management
- Familiarity with airway/respiratory management including HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP
- Experience in tracheostomy care and chest tube management
- Wound care and blood product administration experience
- Participation in rapid response/code teams

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care to adult and geriatric populations in a med-surgical/stepdown unit.
- Monitor and manage telemetry and cardiac patients, including post-operative care.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in code blue and rapid response situations as a member of the healthcare team.
- Document all care provided accurately in the electronic health record.

Compliance / Notes:
- Full compliance required to start on time; incomplete compliance can delay start.
- All compliance documents due by Tuesday prior to start.
- Maximum RTO: 7 days per contract; no RTOs allowed after offer or onsite.
- Travelers expected to work major holidays that fall during assignment.
