Patient Service Representative (PSR)

Contract- 13 weeks

Shift- Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)

We are seeking an experienced Patient Service Representative (PSR) to support front-office operations in an outpatient healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical insurance, referrals, patient registration, scheduling, and insurance authorizations , along with excellent customer service skills.

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting.
• Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans .
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions.

• 2+ years of recent Patient Service Representative experience.
• Experience with CS-Link/Epic .
• Understanding of medical terminology .
• Previous experience with insurance verification and authorizations.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients in person and by phone.
• Greet patients, provide assistance, and resolve or appropriately escalate patient concerns.
• Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently.
• Collect co-payments and other applicable payments, provide receipts, and reconcile transactions.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information in CS-Link/Epic .
• Schedule patient appointments and complete registration accurately.
• Process, track, and follow up on referrals and authorizations for various insurance plans.
• Verify insurance benefits and referral requirements.
• Handle patient and provider correspondence.
• Explain healthcare policies, procedures, services, and related requirements to patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
• Sanitize and maintain the workspace using provided supplies and following department guidelines.
• Follow HIPAA, patient privacy, infection prevention, and organizational policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have recent outpatient healthcare experience with strong patient-facing, registration, insurance, referral, and scheduling skills . Experience with Epic/CS-Link and medical terminology is highly preferred.
