Accounts Payable Clerk

Location : Chicago, IL (Near O'Hare Airport) Pay Range : $26-27/hour Benefits : Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) Role Overview : Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for an Accounts Payable Clerk. Our client located near O'Hare Airport is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team on a Contract basis. They are seeking an individual that has strong AP experience (3+ years), has worked with large ERPs, and is able to hit the ground running. Key Responsibilities : Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliations and research outstanding balances or discrepancies. Collect, review, and maintain vendor W-9 forms and ensure vendor records are complete and up to date. Handle and process a high volume of incoming vendor checks (approximately 200–400 checks per week), ensuring timely and accurate application and distribution. Review invoices prior to payment to verify accuracy, proper approvals, pricing, quantities, and supporting documentation. Identify discrepancies, unusual charges, duplicate invoices, or other items requiring further investigation, and elevate concerns as appropriate before payment is processed. Review remittance information to ensure payments are applied correctly and vendor records are updated accurately. Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment, invoice, and account discrepancies.
