The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leads the Credit Union's Accounting team, managing accounting operations and payment systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role oversees budgeting, audit coordination and cash management, while driving cost efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements. The CFO supports core system operations, manages risk through disaster recovery planning, and partners with internal and external auditors to uphold the financial health and strategic goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting and prepare annual plans and operating budgets
• Oversee accounting processes to ensure accurate and current financial records
• Coordinate internal and external audits, as well as coordinator Federal and State examiners
• Lead, train, and evaluate a our Accounting team of 5 employees
• Implement policies, objectives, and programs in collaboration with Credit Union leadership
• Maintain record retention and disaster recovery plans, ensuring data security and business continuity
• Monitor cash position daily to maintain appropriate fund availability
• Develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements in products and processes
• Provide friendly, professional service and support to both Members and staff
• Support core system and standard accounting systems
• Travel occasionally to different office locations for cash counts and audits

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in financial management
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and audit management
• Proficient in Excel and standard accounting tools
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Data analysis and policy development and implementation
