HR & Payroll Accountant

StevenDouglas has an industrial client that is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Accountant to support a growing industrial services and field operations business. This role blends payroll processing, benefits administration, HR compliance, and accounting functions to ensure smooth and accurate workforce administration. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees, including field personnel. Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations. Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and assist with month-end close. Oversee benefits enrollment and administration, including onboarding/offboarding support. Process wage adjustments, bonuses, overtime, and deductions. Coordinate with operations leadership on workforce scheduling, headcount updates, and labor reporting. Prepare payroll and HR compliance reports (e.g., ACA, W-2, EEO, unemployment). Support audits and liaise with external payroll and benefits vendors. Assist with analysis of labor costs, workforce trends, and payroll KPIs for management. Qualifications 2+ years of payroll and HR accounting experience (industrial, energy, field services, or repair environments preferred). Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or related fields. Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance. Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems; experience with ADP or Paychex is a plus. Solid understanding of payroll accounting and basic GAAP. Strong Excel skills and comfort reconciling financial data. High attention to detail, accountability, and ability to manage sensitive information. #J-18808-Ljbffr StevenDouglas
