Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5 PM with one hour for lunch

Hiring a second surgery scheduler for a busy neurosurgery practice in Santa Monica.

Achieve Brain and Spine is a neurosurgery practice in Santa Monica actively seeking a second Surgery Scheduler to join our team. At Achieve, our mission is to help our patients achieve their best health by providing the highest possible level of relief from pain and other symptoms associated with brain and spine conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain prior authorizations from various types of insurance plans including PPO, HMO and Medi-Cal
• Coordinate surgeon schedules with various hospitals and resolve appointment conflicts
• Patient communication, provides pre/post procedure instructions and assists with patient inquires

Coordinating preoperative testing and obtaining all documents for review prior to surgery date

Arranging pre/post procedure visits

Coordinating with instrumentation reps, making sure proper equipment arranged to ensure a timely and orderly environment for each surgical procedure

Clerical and administrative duties such as answering phones and rooming patients when needed

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum: High School Diploma

Minimum: 1 or 2 years of post-high school education or a degree from a two-year college

Minimum: 1+ years of experience in a medical office setting

1+ years of scheduling experience a plus

Experience using an EMR system

High level of computer literacy with keyboard skills

Proficient with practice management software and all Microsoft Office programs

Proficient with medical insurance authorizations

Ability to create a comfortable relation with patients and their family members

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and in a calm and pleasant manner
