This short-term project role focuses on assembling kits and reworking packages that arrive with packaging or assembly issues. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk inspects incoming packages, corrects defects, and prepares products for accurate and timely distribution while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards on an overnight shift schedule.
Responsibilities

• Inspect packages for defects, inaccuracies, missing components, or assembly issues.
• Correct package issues to ensure all products meet established quality standards.
• Assemble kits and rework packages according to written instructions and procedures.
• Prepare products and kits for accurate distribution and shipment.
• Verify package contents and completeness before release.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures in the warehouse and on the assembly line.
• Meet daily productivity targets while maintaining high levels of quality and accuracy.
• Handle packaging materials and inventory as needed to support production and distribution.
• Work overnight hours on a consistent third-shift schedule and support occasional Saturday work when required.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or production environment.
• Warehouse experience (required), including general labor and basic inventory and packing tasks.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with packaging materials and repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify package defects, missing components, or assembly issues.
• Ability to ensure all packages are corrected and completed accurately.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during most of the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently and efficiently.
• Ability to work overnight hours on a third-shift schedule.
• Ability to work some Saturdays as needed to support project demands.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in assembly and kitting activities, including following established instructions and quality standards.
• Trainable in assembly and kitting processes for kit building and package rework.
• Comfort working in an assembly line setting within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Basic familiarity with inventory handling and packing tasks.
• Reliability and punctuality in adhering to a consistent overnight schedule.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

The environment is fast-paced and focused on meeting production and quality goals, with established safety and operational procedures guiding daily activities. Typical warehouse attire is expected, suitable for active, hands-on work around packaging materials and inventory.

This is a Contract position based out of Perth Amboy, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
