Finance & Accounting Manager

Work closely with Controller to oversee financial reporting, operational budgeting and forecasting Serve as the primary New York-based finance resource supporting ownership and operating teams Partner with ownership/senior leadership to provide timely financial analysis and decision-support information Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entries Assist in supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related accounting processes Monitor cash flow, banking activity, debt obligations, and treasury functions Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning initiatives Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights to ownership and senior management Build and maintain financial models and analytical tools to support operational and investment decision-making Analyze performance, identify trends/opportunities, and recommend action to ownership and management Support lender reporting, refinancing efforts, debt compliance requirements, and financing transactions Coordinate annual audits and work with external accountants, tax advisors, and lenders Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Assist ownership with acquisitions, asset management initiatives, special projects, and operational analyses Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and KPIs to improve visibility into company performance Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and financial processes across our business units Qualifications Required 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial analysis Strong financial analysis, modeling, and problem‑solving skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis Strong organizational, communication, and presentation abilities Ability to operate independently while balancing multiple priorities Professional presence to interact with ownership, lenders, tenants, vendors, and outside professionals Preferred Commercial real estate, property management, family office, or operating company accounting experience Experience working directly with Controllers, CFOs, or ownership teams Experience managing accounting workflows CPA designation, MBA, or significant progress toward either credential Experience with AppFolio, Yardi, Acumatica or similar accounting platforms Experience with lender reporting, refinancing transactions, debt compliance, and cash forecasting Experience building financial models, budgets, forecasts, and operational reporting tools Experience analyzing investments, financing transactions, business operations, or real estate assets Experience working within entrepreneurial, privately‑owned, or family‑owned organizations #J-18808-Ljbffr
