Position Title: Human Resources Generalist / Recruiting Coordinator

Location: McLean, VA (Hybrid or Remote based on candidate experience)

About Us

We are a rapidly growing government contractor supporting federal agencies across a diverse portfolio of contracts. Due to continued growth and new contract awards, we are seeking a highly motivated HR Generalist / Recruiting Coordinator to join our Human Resources team.

Position Summary

This position is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service to employees and hiring managers. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle, with primary responsibility for recruiting coordination, onboarding, HR administration, benefits and payroll support, reporting, and employee support.

This individual will work closely with the Vice President of Human Resources as a trusted partner while also providing administrative support to the Vice President of Contracts as needed. We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is someone who can take ownership of projects, anticipate needs, solve problems, and consistently deliver high-quality work.

Essential Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Recruiting

• Coordinate full-cycle recruiting activities from requisition through onboarding.
• Post positions across multiple recruiting platforms.
• Source and screen candidates.
• Schedule interviews and coordinate hiring manager calendars.
• Communicate professionally with candidates throughout the hiring process.
• Prepare offer letters and hiring documentation.
• Maintainapplicant tracking records and recruiting metrics.
• Assistwith recruiting initiatives, career fairs, and employer branding efforts.
• Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

Human Resources Administration

• Support day-to-day HR operations and employee inquiries.
• Prepare onboarding and new hire documentation.
• Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
• Process employee status changes andmaintainpersonnel records.
• Coordinate offboarding activities including exit documentation and system access.
• Maintain employee files and HRIS records with a high degree of accuracy.
• Assistwith policy administration and employee communications.
• Support performance review, engagement, and other HR initiatives.
• Prepare employment verification letters and other HR correspondence.
• Assistwith compliance reporting and record retention requirements.

Benefits & Payroll Support

• Assistemployees with benefit enrollment and general benefit questions.
• Coordinate new hire enrollments and qualifying life event changes.
• Support annual open enrollment activities.
• Assistwith payroll preparationas requested, auditing, and reporting while partnering closely withVP ofHuman Resources.
• Maintain benefit and payroll documentation.

Reporting & Data Management

• Prepare recurring and ad hoc HR reports.
• Maintain recruiting, headcount, turnover, and workforce metrics.
• Perform data entry and auditing across HR systems.
• Analyze information for completeness and accuracy.
• Create spreadsheets, dashboards, and reportsutilizingMicrosoft Excel and other reporting tools.

Administrative Support

• Provide administrative support to the Vice President of Human Resources.
• Assist the Vice President of Contracts with administrative projects and support as assigned.
• Coordinate meetings,maintaindocumentation, andassistwith special projects.
• Support executive initiatives and cross-functional activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 3–6 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.
• Experience supporting recruiting and onboarding activities.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• High levelof professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment.
• Customer-service mindset with a passion for supporting employees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Human Resources within a federal government contractor.
• Knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
• Experience working with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
• Benefits administration and payroll support experience.
• Experience supporting multiple executives or business leaders.
