Occupational Therapist School Setting in Richmond, TX

Make a meaningful impact across multiple campuses as a school-based Occupational Therapist supporting students from elementary to high school. In this dynamic itinerant contract position based near Richmond, TX, you'll deliver a blend of direct, consultative, and indirect OT services to a diverse caseload of 50-60 students within a supportive educational community. Your expertise will empower students to achieve greater independence and participation in their educational environments.


Desired Skills & Experience:

• Current and valid Occupational Therapist license required
• Experience working in a school-based setting preferred
• Comfort serving a districtwide, itinerant caseload (10+ campuses)
• Strong ability to provide direct and consultative therapeutic services
• Capable of delivering services across elementary, middle, and high school age groups
• Knowledge of necessary documentation, including billing for Medicare/Medicaid
• Excellent communication, time management, and collaborative skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services to students according to their IEPs, including direct interventions and consultations with staff and families
• Travel to and serve onsite at multiple campuses throughout the district-note this is an on-site only role
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including meeting Medicaid/Medicare billing requirements
• Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and administrators to foster each student's success
• Support students in developing skills needed for academic and functional participation
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate progress to families and teams
