CNC Machinist

CNC MachinistHunt Valve, a Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) company, has been manufacturing valves for naval customers for decades. As the company continues to grow, it is in need of a CNC Machinist. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathe, while also understanding machining centers, lathes, and other equipment to produce parts to tight tolerances within .001. Hunt offers a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted defense contractor.*2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM with overtime as required *New hire training will be on 1st shift for 30-90 days (depending on the candidate): Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM with overtime as required*$1.00 per hour extra shift premium for working on 2nd shiftPrinciple Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet-up and operate machines to manufacture parts to meet engineering blueprints.Work closely with CNC programmer to ensure that programs manufacture parts that meet drawing specifications.Operation of one or more CNC machines under the direction of supervisorsLoad programs and perform simple edits as neededAdhere to company Malpractice & Ethics PoliciesQualifications and Educational RequirementsHigh School Diploma (Preferred)3-5 years of experience operating CNC and/or equivalent machineryMinimum of 1-year experience in Fanuc and/or Okuma ControlAbility to read and understand blueprints and engineering requirementsAbility to use inspection measuring devicesStrong attention to detailAble to stand or sit for prolonged periods, and move about the facilityNeed to be well-organized and able to self-manage on tasks to completionExperience programming at machine is a plusAbility to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds frequently or 50lbs occasionally throughout an 8-12 hour shift.Standing for up to 4 hours continuouslyFairbanks Morse Defense offers a competitive benefits package including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, and 401k retirement plan with employer match.
