Business Analyst Technical Writer

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst/Technical Writer will leverage over 5 years of combined experience in business analysis, systems analysis, and technical writing to support IT projects. This role involves documenting complex technology initiatives including Microsoft 365, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, application development, and systems integration. The professional will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, create detailed documentation, and translate technical information for diverse audiences. Responsibilities:

• Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather business and functional requirements.
• Create and maintain process maps, traceability matrices, user stories, acceptance criteria, and decision logs.
• Develop comprehensive documentation including runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), configuration guides, architecture narratives, support manuals, training materials, and knowledge-transfer artifacts.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language suitable for business, operational, and executive stakeholders.
• Ensure documentation aligns with project deliverables and client expectations.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, technical writing, or a combination thereof on IT projects.
• Proven experience documenting Microsoft 365, cloud, cybersecurity, application development, or systems integration projects.
• Hands-on experience with stakeholder interviews, requirements gathering, process mapping, traceability, user stories, acceptance criteria, and decision tracking.
• Demonstrated ability to produce runbooks, SOPs, configuration documentation, architecture narratives, support guides, training materials, and knowledge-transfer documents.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical information for varied audiences.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis, or equivalent certification.
• Technical writing credential or demonstrated experience creating Microsoft cloud operational documentation.
• Microsoft Fundamentals certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Power Platform Fundamentals, or Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, communications, English, computer science, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Documentation of roles, requirements responsibilities, deliverables, tools used, and project outcomes is required.
• Submission of examples of technical documentation related to cloud, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, security, application, or integration projects is mandatory.
• Provide samples of requirements traceability, runbooks, SOPs, user guidance, training, and knowledge transfer materials.
