**Student Employee - Housing Ambassador**The Housing Ambassador is a student leader dedicated to creating an engaging, welcoming, and connected residential experience at Ensign College. Through intentional relationship-building, creative programming, and peer mentorship, Housing Ambassadors foster a vibrant community where students feel they belong, build meaningful friendships, and grow socially, academically, and spiritually. Housing Ambassadors collaborate with residents to plan and lead activities that strengthen community, encourage student involvement, and enhance the overall residential experience. They also serve as positive role models who promote a safe, inclusive, and values-based living environment while connecting students with resources that support their success.In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to further the mission of Ensign College: to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Current Ensign College student in good academic and Honor Code standing* Strong interpersonal and communication skills* Ability to lead peers with maturity, integrity, and empathy* Experience working with diverse groups of people* Interest in student development, leadership, or community building* Previous leadership experience (student organizations, service, etc.) preferred**Essential Job Functions:** Build an Engaging Student Community* Foster a welcoming, inclusive residential community where every student feels connected, valued, and supported* Develop meaningful relationships with residents through regular interactions and intentional community-building* Create opportunities for students to build friendships, develop leadership skills, and strengthen their sense of belonging* Serve as a visible and positive presence within the housing communityPlan & Lead Student Programming* Design, coordinate, and host engaging social, educational, recreational, and spiritual programs that enrich the residential experience* Collaborate with student residents to identify interests and develop events that meet the needs of the community* Encourage student involvement by empowering residents to help plan, lead, and evaluate activities* Create programming that supports student wellness, personal growth, and connection to the Ensign College communityStudent Support & Peer Leadership* Serve as a trusted peer mentor and positive role model* Conduct regular informal check-ins with residents to build relationships and identify opportunities for support* Connect students with appropriate campus resources for academic, emotional, social, or personal needs* Respond to student concerns with empathy, professionalism, and discretionCommunity Standards & Safety* Promote a respectful, safe, and positive living environment by modeling and reinforcing community expectations* Address minor interpersonal concerns through coaching and educational conversations* Document incidents and communicate significant concerns to the Housing Coordinator* Participate in emergency response procedures and on-call responsibilities as assignedTeam Collaboration & Operational Support* Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development* Assist with move-in, move-out, and other community-wide housing initiatives* Support room checks, community walkthroughs, and other operational needs that contribute to a positive resident experience* Provide feedback and observations that help improve student programming and the overall residential experience**Skills & Abilities:*** Relationship-building and peer leadership* Communication and active listening* Conflict mediation and problem-solving* Initiative and reliability* Commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful environment* Alignment with the mission and values of Ensign College**Physical Demands:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
