Legal Accounting Clerk Employment Type Full-Time | On-site Roseland, NJ office We're partnering with a nationally recognized law firm that is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Legal Accounting Clerk. This is a fully in-person position supporting our finance and billing team with day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment. Responsibilities: Open new client matters and maintain accurate records in the firms accounting system. Process incoming payments (checks, ACH, wires, credit cards) and apply them correctly. Prepare daily deposits and maintain proper documentation. Assist with billing, including invoice preparation, edits, and distribution. Support accounts receivable efforts, including follow-ups on outstanding balances. Handle basic accounts payable tasks, including invoice entry and processing. Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end close activities. Work closely with attorneys and staff to resolve billing or payment questions. Ensure compliance with internal controls and law firm accounting procedures. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience. Law firm or professional services experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive information. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. Support staff may also be eligible for discretionary year-end bonuses and a merit-based increase.
