Duties
Duties and skills needed to be successful in this position include, but are not limited to:
- Enrolls and/or facilitates the process of the enrollment of veterans and/or their family members into the Eastern Colorado Health Care System
- Councils veterans, their dependents, and their beneficiaries regarding all benefits available through the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as non-VA benefits available through other agencies.
- Responsible for entering personal demographics, health care insurance and income verification into the Enrollment System and other systems as required.
- Explains the types of documents necessary to facilitate timely processing of claims and provides assistance.
- Directly involved in Patient Business Office activities, beneficiary travel, correspondence, decedent affairs, eligibility, medical information, and patient care services to include facility admissions and death cases.
- Supports the clerical and medical staff by serving as a direct contact for veterans and beneficiaries seeking medical treatment, experiencing problems and requesting information.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 08:00am to 4:00pm
