Executive Contract Surety Underwriter - West Region

Job Purpose

Responsible and accountable for the marketing and underwriting of the assigned Surety portfolio within the West Region (California, Oregon, and/or Washington) for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team. The Executive Surety Underwriter maintains existing broker relationships, recommends new broker relationships, effectively markets Surety's capabilities, and underwrites profitable business in the US.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the Regional Surety Manager to execute the strategic business plan and expand Allianz Trade’s Surety business in the United States.
• Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Surety business through active engagement in the local market with existing and new broker relationships.
• Document all decisions and recommendations consistently and transparently.
• Conduct account and portfolio underwriting activities in accordance with Allianz Trade’s guidelines and portfolio management requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Americas and internationally to leverage surety capabilities and existing customer base.
• Attend industry groups and local surety events as requested by the Regional Manager.

Key Experience

• Proven ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio.
• Strong relationships with local brokers.
• Recognized expertise in underwriting surety accounts and risks.
• Track record of successful underwriting results.

Key Requirements

• At least 7 years of industry experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in surety in the U.S. local market.
• Entrepreneurial skill set to establish and achieve goals and objectives.
• Track record of developing business with brokers.
• 4-year college degree with emphasis in business, economics, or finance.
• Basic awareness of Artificial Intelligence technologies and eagerness to learn and integrate AI into business processes.

AI & Data Analysis Skills (Optional)

• Experience with Generative AI, AI data analysis, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.

Total Compensation Range

$150,000-$175,000
