Accounting Clerk

Accounting Clerk LHH is seeking a dependable Accounting Clerk to support daily accounting operations within a fast-paced business environment. This role is responsible for processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with payroll and tax-related activities, and supporting month-end close functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to producing accurate work while meeting deadlines. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $20 and $22/hr. Job Duties
- Process and validate sales and financing transactions within the company's accounting system.
- Review account activity and perform reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and complete.
- Investigate discrepancies and prepare correcting journal entries when necessary.
- Maintain commission tracking reports and employee compensation spreadsheets.
- Provide support with payroll audits and review payroll reports for accuracy.
- Assist with preparing and submitting tax-related filings and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting activities, including account analysis and reporting.
- Organize and maintain financial records, spreadsheets, and accounting documentation.
- Collaborate with accounting staff on special projects and process improvements.
- Perform additional administrative and accounting tasks as assigned.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively under deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Previous accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or clerical accounting experience preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume transactional environment is beneficial but not required.
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
- Flexible start time within standard business hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required during month-end and peak workload periods.
