Service Project Manager

Trane in Arden Hills, MN is hiring a Service Project Manager. The Service Project Manager will manage all aspects of our Service Turnkey and Large Repair projects in the Twin Cities, La Crosse and Chippewa Falls markets. They will have direct responsibility for project financials, administration, implementation, management and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Support sales functions by assisting with quote preparation, project development, and proposals. Validate project scope, cost and schedule by conducting site walks, attending pre‑sales scoping meetings with account managers, holding internal meetings and establishing clear customer expectations. Manage change orders by identifying opportunities, recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, utilizing pricing strategies and closing orders to provide total solutions across business streams. Maintain customer satisfaction by supporting company initiatives, building customer relationships, investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions and developing communication plans with both internal and external stakeholders to provide timely project updates. Utilize properly qualified subcontractors, oversee subcontractor RFQ process, award subcontracts, manage subcontractor execution and collaborate with subcontractors to establish communication guidelines for project progress, meetings, billing expectations, safety and maintain professional relationships. Financially manage all aspects of projects, including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost/revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collection support, applied cost and oversee preparation and communications for monthly backlog review with leaders. Create and maintain project schedules to determine resource timing, coordinate with subcontractors, technician teams and external customer stakeholders to validate schedule, impact of work, timing of subcontracted scope and access needs while on‑site. Lead all aspects of project administration, including permit acquisition, subcontract submission and procurement, material acquisition, quote solicitation, scope change management, billing schedules, contract document management and regulatory compliance documentation. Qualifications Advanced understanding of HVAC retrofit, modification, repair and replacement projects in a commercial/industrial environment. Strong leadership skills and ability to convey technical concepts to the right audience at the appropriate level of detail. Organizational expertise, strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to successfully lead a project team. Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Project Management degree – or a combination of an associate’s degree plus 5‑8 years of experience managing commercial HVAC service projects. Experience with project schedules and project management software. Driver’s license: valid and in state; must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations (including but not limited to DUI, hit & run, license suspension, reckless or careless driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years). Must meet the driver’s license requirement within one year of employment. Compensation Annual Base Salary Range: $91,516.66 - $148,200.00. Compensation Type: Salary. Incentive Eligible: Yes.
