Together, the hard work of our staff and team members supports critical operations that make a difference and advance human achievement. Transportation Supervisor – RSS II Must qualify for and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance necessary for this position and possess a valid state issued driver's license. Purpose and Scope: Supervises operation and maintenance activities of fleet/automotive equipment department and storage, repair facilities, and supply warehouse operations. Reports to Transportation Manager. Essential Responsibilities: Leads Safety, Quality Assurance and Operational Performance Compliance efforts of the assigned departments through continuous oversight, campaigns, training, briefings, observations, and fostering of a safety and quality culture to ensure adherence to rules and regulationsPrepares detailed reports and briefings to clearly and accurately communicate functional area progress, status, and deliverablesPossesses Subject Matter Expert knowledge of contractual requirements for the areas assignedCoordinates, communicates, and collaborates with prime and subcontract personnel, customers, and Government personnel in all matters related to assigned departments to ensure transparency, compliance, and customer satisfactionProvides oversight of inspections and scheduling of maintenance for fleet assets.Obtains vehicle and equipment replacement costs and prepares specifications for purchase of new vehicles and equipment.Articulates significant work performed for contract and employee recognition; administer discipline as required. Monitors department budget and analyzes purchase and repair costs to control expenditures.Responsible for process improvement and efficiency. Assist in assignment of vehicles to meet contractual requirements. Participates in managing vehicle manufacturer recall program. Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite/Office (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), other proprietary software for administrative use Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Associate's degree in related fields such as transportation or logistics is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years' relevant work experience with a proven track record in scheduling and managing others. Administer and maintain highly confidential and specialized information utilizing an in-depth understanding of organizational policies, procedures, operations, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 15 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Position will require travel.
