• Pay Rate: $77.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 3x12 Hours (19:00-07:00)

Job Summary

This is a Labor and Delivery RN travel contract position at an acute care hospital in Santa Monica, CA. The unit includes 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms. No on-call is required. The traveler will float to postpartum if census requires, with the ability to provide PP couplet care (newborn and maternal) considered a bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 4-antepartum-room, 9-labor/high-risk-room, 3-triage-room Labor and Delivery unit
• Perform fetal heart monitoring
• Monitor high-risk pregnancies
• Assist with C-sections
• Assist with vaginal deliveries
• Float to postpartum if there are not enough Perinatal RNs; perform PP couplet care (newborn and maternal)
• Fulfill newborn role in delivery

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required
• Fetal heart monitoring proficiency
• High-risk pregnancy monitoring
• C-section and vaginal delivery experience
• Ability to perform PP couplet care (newborn and maternal)
• Ability to fulfill newborn role in delivery
• Every-other-weekend availability required
• RTO must be included at time of submission
• Pending license not accepted - active license required at time of submission
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Local radius is 50 miles - please reach out to Account Manager for local rate

Education Requirements

• Active RN License required (pending license not accepted)
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required (or NCC EFM accepted in lieu)
• ACLS required (AHA certification)
• BLS required (AHA certification)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not Required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required (first-timers not accepted)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital (beachside)
• Total Staffed Beds: 266
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrub Color: RNs - Navy Blue; L&D/OR/Cath Lab - scrubs provided
• No on-call required
• Will float to postpartum unit if census requires
• Block schedule: per manager discretion
• Guaranteed Hours: facility is able to call off once per two-week pay period
• Weekend Requirement: Every other
