| Household Manager & Family Assistant (with Childcare & Meal Prep Support)

Location: Silver Spring, MD 20902

Employment Type: Full-time (30–35 hours/week)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, split schedule approximately 8:00 AM–12:00 PM and 5:00 PM–9:00 PM, with some flexibility around exact hours. Travel support is required approximately 4 times per year for trips ranging from 4–12 days, both domestically and internationally.

Compensation: $30–35/hour based on experience

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation
• CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain
• Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally with the family

Key Responsibilities

Household Management & Organization

• Create and maintain organization systems throughout the home, including closets, pantry, kitchen, drawers, and common areas
• Complete daily household resets and prepare the home ahead of the weekly cleaning visit
• Light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and high-traffic areas
• Manage family packing and unpacking for travel
• Handle seasonal clothing swaps, décor transitions, and bedding refreshes
• Coordinate donation drop-offs and clutter removal
• Care for indoor plants
• Handle routine home maintenance tasks, including batteries, light bulbs, smoke detector checks, and filter replacements
• Maintain outdoor spaces, including patio upkeep

Meal Prep & Kitchen Support

• Prepare approximately 3 family dinners per week
• Prepare healthy after-school meals and snacks for the children
• Grocery shop in-store or coordinate grocery delivery
• Follow family dietary preferences
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen

Laundry & Linen Care

• Wash, fold, organize, and put away family laundry on a near-daily basis
• Manage weekly linen rotation, including towels and bed linens
• Keep laundry areas tidy and well stocked

Family Support & Childcare

• School and activity pick-ups and drop-offs
• Prepare backpacks, clothing, snacks, and other items needed for school days
• Provide light supervision and backup childcare as needed
• Provide occasional date-night support within the regular evening schedule
• Support the family during travel approximately 4 times per year

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

• Maintain awareness of children's school schedules, appointments, activities, and practices
• Coordinate and schedule children's medical and dental appointments
• Assist with family travel planning and logistics
• Help keep household calendars and family commitments organized

Errands & Household Inventory

• Proactively monitor and restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies
• Maintain household supply lists
• Handle returns, dry cleaning, and occasional gift shopping
• Complete weekly pickup from the family PO box
• Anticipate household needs and take care of errands before they become urgent

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

• Assist with occasional deep cleaning projects, including refrigerator and oven cleaning
• Refresh garage, mudroom, and entryway areas
• Clean and maintain humidifiers and air purifiers
• Take on organizational projects throughout the home, including closets, pantry, dressers, toy storage, and kitchen cabinets

Vehicle Management

• Fuel, clean, and organize the family vehicle
• Schedule and track routine vehicle maintenance
• Monitor registration and insurance timelines
