Sales Account ManagerWe are seeking a highly motivated Sales Account Manager to manage and grow an established portfolio of customer relationships while identifying new business opportunities across pet, retail, distributor, and specialty channels. This role is ideal for a sales professional with strong B2B account management experience who enjoys developing customer relationships, driving revenue growth, and collaborating cross-functionally to bring innovative products to market. The position offers the opportunity to inherit an existing customer base while developing toward ownership of larger national retail accounts.Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Management & GrowthManage a portfolio of existing customer accounts.Maintain and grow customer relationshipsDevelop strategic account plans to increase sales, distribution, and profitability.Identify opportunities for cross-selling, new product launches, and incremental revenue growth.Ensure key accounts receive consistent support and engagement.Business DevelopmentGenerate new business opportunities through trade shows, networking, referrals, and prospecting activities.Conduct targeted outreach and cold-calling efforts, representing approximately 10% of overall sales activity.Convert leads into long-term customer partnerships.Evaluate market opportunities within key growth segments and territories.Territory ManagementManage customer relationships across assigned territories with a significant focus on Midwest growth opportunities.Travel regularly to support customers, develop relationships, and identify growth opportunities.Visit corporate offices in New Jersey and New York as required for meetings, planning, and collaboration.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with: MarketingProduct DevelopmentProduct SupportPurchasingAccountingCommunicate customer feedback to internal stakeholders.Support new product launches and account-specific sales initiatives.Assist with customer presentations, product reviews, and merchandising opportunities.Required5+ years of successful B2B sales or account management experience.Proven ability to manage and grow existing customer relationships.Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Demonstrated track record of achieving revenue growth objectives.Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.Travel RequirementsTravel 1-2 times per month.Quarterly visits to corporate offices in New Jersey and New York.Additional travel throughout the Midwest and other assigned territories as needed.Incentive StructureCommission earned on existing account revenue.Enhanced commission opportunities tied to new business and revenue growth.Performance evaluated through: Revenue growthSales KPIsTerritory performanceAccount development metrics.Location: Nationwide
