Medical Intake Coordinator (Patient Referrals) – Infusion Pharmacy

• Syracuse, NY (Hybrid after training)
• $22 – $26/hr + $1,000 Bonus
• Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in getting patients started on therapy by managing the  intake and referral process from start to finish :

• Process new patient referrals (phone, fax, electronic)
• Verify insurance coverage (benefits, eligibility, deductibles, etc.)
• Submit and track prior authorizations
• Gather all required clinical and billing documentation
• Enter patient data accurately into internal systems
• Communicate with providers, patients, and internal teams
• Ensure all referrals are cleared for billing and service
• Track pending referrals and follow up to keep things moving

What We’re Looking For

• Associate’s degree in Business, Health Care Services, or Medical Sales ra huge plus
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare industry required
• Strong working knowledge of first- and third-party payer requirements as it pertains to the billing and collection industry
• Excellent management, communication, interpersonal, team-orientation, organizational and analytical skills
• Prioritization and multi-tasking skills
• Proficiency with problem resolution
• Self-motivated and self-disciplined
• Computer aptitude
• Mathematical aptitude

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Home infusion, specialty pharmacy, or home health experience
• Experience with prior authorizations or reimbursement workflows
