Job Description

The Physical Therapist will accurately assess, differentially diagnose, and identify deficits in a patient’s ability to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. They will develop an individualized treatment plan with patient-centered goals to reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability, working with the individual to prevent the loss of mobility.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations by obtaining history, performing relevant systems review, and selecting and administering specific tests and measures to obtain data.
• Establish individualized plans of care and select treatment techniques that address specific impairments identified in the evaluation and in accordance with physician orders.
• Conduct ongoing reassessment of the patient and their response to treatment.
• Initiate and manage the discharge plan beginning at the first visit and continuing throughout treatment.
• Supervise and delegate to ancillary staff and students consistent with state laws and department policy.
• Complete legible, accurate, and clear documentation within the established timeframe identified in the department policy and procedure and in accordance with accreditation requirements and insurance regulations.
• Communicate with the patient, family, caregivers, significant others, and members of the health care team to promote maximum benefit of care utilizing AIDET.
• Assess educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provide education to meet those needs.
• Participate in professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, including in-service meetings, workshops, and reading current literature concerning the scope of practice.
• Actively participate in quality improvement activities and provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.

Required Experience

• 2 years of Physical Therapy experience - Required
• TX or compact license - Required

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Physical Therapist license in Texas or compact license.
