This role requires strong leadership skills, exceptional knowledge of mixology and beverages, and a keen understanding of the upscale dining experience. This will also include collaboration with the culinary team to create a harmonious pairing of food and beverage offerings. Extensive front of house knowledge that displays high functioning leadership, labor management, cost control and conflict resolution is essential for the success of this leadership position. Responsibilities: Beverage Program Management Develop and execute a comprehensive beverage program, including spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Curate a diverse and high-quality beverage selection that complements the upscale dining experience. Maintain and update the beverage menu regularly, considering market trends, guests' preferences, and seasonal offerings. Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and organizing beverage supplies. Ensure accurate and efficient cost control measures are in place to optimize profitability. Staff Training and Development: Train and educate the staff on beverage knowledge, service techniques, and proper pouring and presentation. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge, upselling skills, and adherence to service standards. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development among the beverage team. Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with beverage suppliers and distributors. Negotiate favorable pricing, promotional deals, and exclusive offerings. Stay updated on industry trends, new product releases, and emerging brands. Quality Control and Guest Satisfaction: Ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional beverage service and quality. Monitor guest feedback and reviews related to the beverage program, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively. Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious food and beverage pairings that enhance the overall guest experience. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements related to beverage service. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for responsible alcohol service. Ensure the proper storage, handling, and disposal of beverage products in accordance with safety and health guidelines. Qualifications: Extensive experience in managing beverage programs in upscale dining establishments. Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, including current trends and industry best practices. Exceptional leadership and communication skills. Ability to train and mentor staff effectively. Proficient in inventory management and cost control techniques. Understanding of local regulations and compliance related to beverage service. Passion for providing excellent guest experiences. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Experience: Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage service procedures, strong background in hospitality in a full-service, upscale high-volume restaurant environment.
