Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will perform a variety of duties essential for delivering high-quality patient care, including:

• Carrying out individualized physical therapy treatment plans as developed and directed by licensed physical therapists to ensure patient progress aligns with therapeutic goals.
• Utilizing established procedures to apply therapeutic modalities to patients, ensuring adherence to the specific Plan of Care.
• Guiding patients through exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living (ADLs) while educating them on the use of adaptive equipment and positioning aids.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously in patient records, including progress notes and assessments, to communicate effectively with supervising therapy staff.
• Identifying when patients require further evaluation and referring them to appropriate services as needed, ensuring comprehensive care.
• Engaging in ongoing education and training through in-services and continuing education programs to enhance personal and professional growth.
• Contributing to an innovative healthcare environment by actively participating in team meetings and discussions to improve rehabilitation practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse patient demographic, ranging from post-surgical rehabilitation patients to those seeking treatment for chronic pain or injuries. Qualifications

• Possession of an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program is required.
• A valid and current Physical Therapy Assistant license in the State of New Jersey is mandatory.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively with patients and healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a PTA is preferred, candidates with less experience who demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to patient care may also be considered.
