- Manage day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities.
- Source and purchase chemical raw materials, packaging, containers, and manufacturing supplies.
- Purchase materials including chemicals, pails, drums, bottles, caps, labels, cartons, and other production components.
- Create, issue, and track purchase orders.
- Obtain and compare vendor quotes, pricing, lead times, and payment terms.
- Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and anticipate purchasing requirements.
- Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Quality Control, Operations, and Accounting.
- Follow up with vendors regarding order confirmations, shipment dates, delays, shortages, and backorders.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and evaluate vendor performance.
- Identify alternative suppliers and materials when necessary.
- Help prevent production delays by proactively identifying potential material shortages.
- Coordinate with Warehouse regarding incoming materials and receiving discrepancies.
- Resolve purchase order, pricing, receiving, and invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate vendor, pricing, purchasing, and product information.
- Obtain and maintain appropriate supplier documentation, including SDS and product specifications when applicable.
- Assist with cost-saving initiatives and supplier negotiations.
- Support inventory planning, safety-stock requirements, and production needs.
- Maintain purchasing records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
