Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant - Remote

We are seeking an energetic and talented Staff Accountant to join our growing team and report to the Controller. Duties:

• Process payroll for 200+ employees, hourly and salaried, in over 30 states
• Process vendor invoices, make payments, and ensure proper recording in financials
• Reconcile payroll and benefit general ledger accounts
• Ensure compliance with assigned KPIs and payroll due dates
• Prepare and post biweekly (hourly) and monthly (salaried) payroll journal entries
• Prepare and post payroll and benefit accruals as needed
• Collaborate with third-party vendors, including Paylocity and various benefit vendors
• Assist with sales tax compliance and reconciliation of sales tax between systems and the general ledger
• Assist with business registrations and compliance items as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required
• Payroll experience desired
• 2+ years of experience in accounting
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)
• Able to adapt to change and learn quickly, work independently and cross-functionally, and prioritize work to achieve objectives and timelines
• Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
• Proactive in finding discrepancies and their resolution
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal
• Experience working within a remote/distributed team environment is a plus
