The successful candidate will operate in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit, providing exceptional care to a diverse adult patient population. Unit Information Unit: Medical Surgical (MS) Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Number of Beds: 64 Common Diagnoses: Stroke, altered mental status, renal failure, dialysis, COPD, CHF, general medical-surgical issues, pneumonia, and pulmonary complications. Floating: Required Scrub Color: Navy Blue Essential Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. Monitor patient health, assess vital signs, and report significant changes to the healthcare team. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Utilize specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized patient care plans. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York and any other active licenses. Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; NIHSS certification can be obtained prior to start. Strong proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC.
