Business Development Manager

Davies Group Banking & Markets is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager / Relationship Manager to support the growth of our commercial lending platform. This individual will be responsible for originating and managing bilateral commercial loan opportunities, developing new corporate and SME client relationships, overseeing the loan process from application through closing, and ensuring compliance with internal policies as well as applicable Federal and State regulations. This role is ideal for a commercial banking professional with strong business development ability, credit and underwriting knowledge, and a proven network within the local or national commercial lending market. Key Responsibilities Drive new business growth by identifying, developing, and acquiring commercial banking relationships with SME and large corporate clients. Manage the commercial loan origination process from application through underwriting, approval, documentation, and closing. Review loan applications, borrower documentation, financial statements, credit information, and supporting materials for accuracy and completeness. Conduct underwriting assessments to evaluate borrower creditworthiness, repayment capacity, risk, and loan feasibility. Maintain strong knowledge of C&I lending, bilateral loan structures, commercial loan market practices, and regulatory requirements. Build and maintain long‑term client relationships while developing a strong pipeline of new lending opportunities. Collaborate with internal credit, compliance, operations, legal, and product teams to ensure smooth loan processing and closing. Assist in developing and enhancing commercial loan policies, procedures, manuals, and workflow documentation. Maintain accurate records of loan transactions, client communications, documentation, and internal approvals. Mentor branch staff and internal team members on business development best practices and commercial lending processes. Track KPIs, business development activity, pipeline progress, and production goals. Support special projects and additional duties assigned by Senior Management. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of experience in commercial banking, business development, relationship management, loan origination, or commercial lending. Strong understanding of commercial loan origination, underwriting, servicing, documentation, and portfolio management. Experience reviewing financial statements, credit packages, borrower risk, and commercial lending documentation. Knowledge of applicable Federal and State banking regulations. Proven ability to build new customer relationships and generate commercial lending opportunities. Strong communication, sales, customer service, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively with internal product experts, credit teams, compliance, and senior stakeholders. U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder required. Preferred Qualifications Current or previous experience working for a Taiwanese or Chinese bank. Fluent Mandarin speaking and writing ability. Existing network of corporate, SME, or commercial banking relationships. Experience managing or mentoring loan officers, branch staff, or lending teams. Demonstrated success achieving sales targets, production goals, or commercial lending KPIs. Base salary starting at $100,000, negotiable based on experience.
