OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

\n

The Senior Director, Career Development and Executive Programs leads the strategy, design, facilitation, and continuous evolution of ACCP’s career-long leadership development portfolio. The role ensures that live programs, cohort experiences, topical member discussions, on-demand learning, and practical resources work together as an intentional learning ecosystem for professionals at every stage of the corporate social impact career journey. This position defines the purpose, positioning, learning outcomes, and progression of ACCP’s signature leadership programs; serves as a lead facilitator for flagship experiences; and manages the staff responsible for CSR content and learning development. In partnership with colleagues across ACCP, the Senior Director uses member insight, field trends, participation data, and evaluation findings to strengthen member value, advance the profession, foster inclusive peer learning, and support the organization’s sustainable growth. ACCP is committed to championing and fostering inclusion and belonging, valuing diversity of thought and lived experience, and expects this role to embed these principles throughout all facets of the work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n

Leadership Development Strategy and Learning Ecosystem

\n

\n
• Own and evolve ACCP’s leadership development strategy across the corporate social impact career continuum, from professionals new to the field through senior and executive leaders.
\n
• Define clear audience segments, learning outcomes, pathways, and progression across live programs, cohort experiences, peer communities, on-demand learning, toolkits, and other resources.
\n
• Ensure the portfolio functions as a connected learning ecosystem, identifying gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for stronger learner pathways.
\n
• Partner with the VP, Content & Learning to translate ACCP’s strategic plan and annual priorities into a practical leadership development roadmap.
\n
• Assess field needs and test new programs, formats, partnerships, and delivery approaches when supported by member and market insight.
\n

\n

\n

Signature Programs and Lead Facilitation

\n

\n
• Provide strategic leadership, learning design, and facilitation direction for ACCP’s current signature leadership experiences, including In-Person Forum, RISE, Executive Network Retreats, and Executive Network Peer Circles.
\n
• Serve as a lead facilitator, setting the tone, guiding dialogue, supporting application, and creating a high-quality and inclusive participant experience.
\n
• Curate, prepare, and collaborate with practitioners, faculty, and subject-matter experts whose perspectives strengthen program goals and reflect the field and communities served.
\n
• Serve as project manager for these programs, coordinating with Event Manager and Marketing Teams to ensure seamless delivery and promotion based on program vision and timeline.
\n
• Create intentional connections among programs so participants can identify relevant next steps in their continued learning and ACCP engagement.
\n

\n

Executive Engagement and Peer Community

\n

\n
• Work with the CEO and VP, Content & Learning to codesign and advance ACCP’s executive engagement strategy, including Executive Network programming.
\n
• Design and facilitate trusted peer-learning environments where senior leaders can exchange insight, examine challenges, and strengthen their leadership.
\n
• Support the growth of formal and informal peer networks that deepen connection, learning, and professional growth.
\n
• Explore additional executive-focused experiences based on validated demand, strategic fit, capacity, and financial feasibility.
\n

\n

Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Partnership

\n

\n
• Directly manage, coach, and develop the Senior Manager, CSR Content as well as the Learning & Development Manager, establishing clear goals, decision rights, and measures of success. 
\n
• Align content strategy, resource development, on-demand learning, LMS administration, webcast strategy, learning architecture, and offerings such as Forum Flex with the broader leadership development roadmap.
\n
• Build effective cross-functional partnerships with colleagues in Membership & Partnerships, Marketing, Communications & Thought Leadership, Events, , and Advisory Services to strengthen audience insight, program positioning, participation, and member and partner value.
\n
• Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and vendor or faculty decisions for the leadership development portfolio.
\n

\n

Evaluation, Data, and Continuous Improvement

\n

\n
• Establish a consistent measurement approach across leadership development offerings, including participation, learner feedback, application, outcomes, member value, and other appropriate indicators.
\n
• Use qualitative and quantitative insight to improve program design.
\n
• Partner with the Learning & Development Manager to strengthen evaluation tools, learning metrics, and reporting practices.
\n
• Use findings to recommend where ACCP should sustain, improve, scale, redesign, or sunset offerings.
\n

\n

\n

Scalable Learning, Resources, and Credentialing

\n

\n
• Guide the roadmap for on-demand learning, toolkits, resources, and content assets that reinforce and extend live programs.
\n
• Provide strategic direction and oversight, rather than day-to-day production, for scalable offerings such as Forum Flex and other digital learning experiences.
\n
• Assess the feasibility, learner value, market relevance, operational requirements, and strategic fit of credentials, certificates, or other recognition-based learning models.
\n
• Promote accessible, inclusive, and practical learning experiences that can be applied in varied organizational contexts.
\n

\n

Field Leadership and External Presence 

\n

\n
• Serve as a senior ACCP representative through facilitation, speaking, relationship-building, and selected external engagements related to leadership development and corporate social impact.
\n
• Monitor trends in adult learning, leadership development, workforce skills, association education, and corporate social impact to inform innovation and help ACCP anticipate what the field needs next.
\n
• Contribute to ACCP’s thought leadership and collective voice by translating program insight and learner needs into timely perspectives, resources, and recommendations.
\n
• Identify and cultivate strategic faculty, practitioner, and partner relationships that expand expertise and strengthen ACCP’s reach.
\n

\n

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS 

\n

\n
• Progressive experience of at least 7-10 years designing, leading, and facilitating leadership development or professional education programs, including cohort-based and executive-level learning.
\n
• Demonstrated success as a primary facilitator for professional and executive audiences, not solely as a program manager or content curator.
\n
• Proven people-management experience, including direct supervision, coaching, development, goal setting, and accountability.
\n
• Experience leading a complex portfolio spanning live learning, peer or cohort experiences, digital or on-demand formats, and practical resources.
\n
• Strong strategic and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to translate vision into priorities, learner pathways, roadmaps, budgets, and measures of success.
\n
• Excellent facilitation, written and verbal communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
\n
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive learning design, accessibility, belonging, and respectful engagement across a diverse professional community.
\n
• Highly organized, accountable, collaborative, and comfortable balancing strategy, people leadership, and hands-on execution in a remote environment.
\n
• Ability to travel approximately 7-9 times per year and occasionally work outside regular business hours in connection with programs and events.
\n
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, CRM systems, and project management tools. Experience with Salesforce, Nimble, Higher Logic, Asana, learning management systems, survey tools, and data visualization platforms is a plus.
\n

Preferred Qualifications 

\n

\n
• Professional experience in corporate social impact, corporate citizenship, CSR, sustainability, ESG, philanthropy, employee engagement, or a closely related field.
\n
• Experience working directly with senior executives in facilitated peer-learning, advisory, or leadership-development environments.
\n
• Knowledge of adult learning, experiential learning, cohort design, executive education, instructional design, and leadership development practices.
\n
• Experience assessing or developing credentials, certificates, or recognition-based learning models.
\n

\n

\n

Compensation Range : $115-125k annually; this range is firm and based on skills and experience.
