Operations Training Manager

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (GICF) Schedule: Full-Time | In Office Monday–Friday Reports To: Senior Director, Learning and Engagement Shape the Future of Operational Excellence Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Operations Training to lead learning initiatives across our retail, donation, warehouse, and operational support functions. This is a highly visible role that combines organizational learning, project management, leadership, and operational performance consulting. You will partner closely with operations leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to transform business priorities, SOPs, safety standards, and service expectations into impactful learning experiences that drive consistency, capability, and results across the organization. The ideal candidate is a skilled learning professional who understands how adults learn, can manage complex projects from concept through implementation, and has a proven ability to build scalable training solutions that improve operational performance. Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, leading teams, and supporting large‑scale operational change initiatives is highly valued. The Keys to Success Drive Operations Learning Strategy Partner with senior leadership and operational teams to identify learning priorities and develop training strategies that support organizational goals, key performance indicators, operational standards, and workforce readiness. Key responsibilities include: Assessing performance needs through data analysis, field observations, stakeholder interviews, and operational feedback Identifying root causes of performance challenges and determining when solutions require training, process improvements, communication enhancements, or leadership interventions Developing learning roadmaps that support onboarding, role‑specific development, compliance training, and leadership growth Recommending practical solutions that improve execution, safety, customer experience, quality, and operational effectiveness Lead Curriculum Development and SOP Alignment Serve as the architect of operational learning programs by designing and maintaining training content that is engaging, scalable, and aligned with business requirements. Responsibilities include: Designing curricula, facilitator guides, job aids, assessments, e‑learning modules, and performance support tools Partnering with operational leaders and subject matter experts to create, maintain, and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Applying adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and blended learning approaches to maximize effectiveness Ensuring training content remains accurate, accessible, relevant, and aligned with organizational standards and branding Manage Training Implementation and Change Initiatives Lead the successful deployment of learning programs while supporting operational projects that require training, documentation, and change management. Responsibilities include: Facilitating workshops, training sessions, train‑the‑trainer programs, leadership development activities, and field coaching Managing project plans, implementation timelines, communications, stakeholder engagement, and training logistics Supporting operational rollouts and initiatives that require adoption planning and workforce readiness Collaborating with leaders to ensure successful implementation and sustained learning application Measure Impact and Drive Continuous Improvement Establish meaningful success measures and use data to evaluate effectiveness, identify opportunities, and continuously improve learning programs. Responsibilities include: Tracking participation, completion rates, knowledge transfer, behavior change, and operational outcomes Utilizing LMS reporting, operational KPIs, audits, feedback, and performance data to measure learning impact Applying Kirkpatrick's evaluation model or similar methodologies to assess effectiveness Providing actionable recommendations that support ongoing organizational improvement Lead and Influence Across the Organization Build strong partnerships and provide leadership for learning initiatives across multiple departments and operational functions. Responsibilities include: Supervising and developing Operations Training team members and training resources Leading projects involving multiple stakeholders, departments, and business priorities Managing project scope, timelines, resources, and budget recommendations Collaborating with Operations, HR, Safety, Loss Prevention, IT, Finance, Marketing, and other key partners to support organizational goals Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business, Operations Management, or a related field Five (5)+ years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, training, operations training, organizational learning, program management, or a related discipline Demonstrated experience leading projects from needs assessment through implementation, measurement, and continuous improvement Strong experience managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a related field Experience supporting retail, warehouse, logistics, donation processing, manufacturing, or other multi‑site operational environments Prior leadership or people-management experience Experience creating, documenting, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Experience with LMS administration, reporting, and e‑learning development tools such as Articulate Rise or Storyline Successful candidates will demonstrate: Expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design, and organizational learning principles Strong project management capabilities and execution skills Ability to translate complex operational processes into practical, user‑friendly learning solutions Excellent facilitation, coaching, consultation, and stakeholder management skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven approach to decision‑making Experience evaluating learning effectiveness and measuring business impact Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Adaptability, professionalism, and sound judgment in a fast‑paced operational environment This is an on‑site position based in Orlando, Florida, requiring in‑office attendance Monday through Friday. Occasional travel to retail locations, operational sites, and training events may be required.
