Location: Sacramento, CA

Pay: $20.93 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time; schedule may vary based on business needs

About the Role

We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join a Sacramento-area organization in a temporary contract assignment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, and providing excellent service in a fast-paced office environment.

The Customer Service Representative will serve as an important point of contact for customers and community residents, responding to questions and requests by phone, online, and in person. The successful candidate will be comfortable handling frustrated customers, managing multiple priorities, documenting interactions, and working collaboratively with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional, courteous, and empathetic customer service at all times
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries by phone, email, internet, and in-person visits
• Answer questions, address concerns, and resolve customer complaints
• Maintain a positive rapport with customers, residents, and visitors
• Process work orders, forms, applications, requests, and related documentation
• Document customer interactions, transactions, comments, complaints, and follow-up activities
• Assist with resident work order requests and coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure timely completion
• Respond to rental inquiries and assist with scheduling appointments
• Perform administrative duties supporting office and community operations
• Exercise discretion when handling confidential resident and organizational information
• Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable Fair Housing and landlord/tenant requirements
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with coworkers and other departments
• Help identify opportunities to improve customer service processes and efficiency
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
• Provide support to the office team as needed
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a customer service or customer support environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong telephone and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous when dealing with challenging customers
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
• Comfortable working with computers and Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and customer-relations skills

Additional Requirements:

• Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Must be able to maintain insurability when driving as part of the position
• Ability to attend required training
• Schedule and work location may be subject to change based on operational needs
• May be required to work varying schedules, including weekends, depending on business needs

Physical Requirements

This position involves regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting, and other routine office activities. The role requires frequent computer and keyboard use, telephone and face-to-face communication, and the ability to read correspondence and data. Occasional lifting, pushing, or dragging of files and documents weighing up to 25 pounds may be required.
