Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our client's growing team. This position is onsite in Boston, MA. ResponsibilitiesAdminister end-to-end, multi-state weekly payroll processing, including time entry review, audits, reconciliations, check printing, and distribution Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance by managing tax deposits, tax reconciliations, and responding to payroll-related inquiries Handle employment verifications, wage garnishments, tax levies, and other regulatory or compliance-related requests Prepare and deliver recurring payroll, labor, and personnel change reports, along with ad hoc reporting for leadership as needed Partner with internal teams to coordinate payroll reporting, resolve discrepancies, and support ongoing operational needs QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Three to five years of hands-on payroll and accounting experience Familiarity with construction or industry-specific payroll systems (e.g., Timberline) is a plus Strong ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels Proven team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
