Quick Facts: Location: Lafayette, LA Start Date: Flexible Duration: Ongoing, temporary to permanent possible Shift: Varies (Inpatient rounding, surgical consults, ER call, 1 clinic day/week) Hours/week: Approximately 40 hours Employment Type: Full-time locum License/Certifications: Active Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license required Experience: Prior cardiovascular/thoracic surgery or inpatient experience preferred Pay & Benefits: Hourly Rate: $1.00 (pay package discussed upon application) Benefits: Competitive pay, flexible schedule, support from a leading healthcare team What You’ll Do: Perform inpatient rounding in a specialized cardiovascular and thoracic surgery unit Conduct surgical consults and emergency room call coverage Assist with procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), VATS, thoracotomies, lobectomies, AAA repairs, arterial bypasses, and valve replacements Participate in clinic once per week (~15-20 post-op patients) Collaborate with a team of surgeons and advanced practice providers Manage a high-volume surgical case load (~90 surgeries/procedures/month) What You Need: Required: Active Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Louisiana Experience in inpatient, surgical, or cardiovascular settings Preferred: Experience with cardiovascular/thoracic procedures Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment About the Assignment: This role is based at a prominent healthcare facility in Lafayette, offering diverse inpatient and outpatient responsibilities with a focus on cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries.
