Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM; 36 or 48-hour contracts accepted with option to extend through February 27, 2027

Highlights:

• Dedicated neuro unit specializing in neurosurgical procedures and neurological diagnoses
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Two orientation shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation
• Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract with floating required
• 36-bed unit with daily census of 36 patients serving adult populations

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Neurology experience strongly preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Competency with telemetry, IV management, CVA care, isolation precautions, and non-invasive airway management
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Additional Information:

• Navy scrubs required
• Time off requests must be pre-approved; up to 7 days may be auto-approved (no holidays); no additional time off requests accepted after contract signing
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
• Floating within or near the facility may be required as needed
• Pre-start online modules required (approximately 8-10 hours, non-billable)
