1.0 FTE Full time Evening - 08 Hour R2655760 Onsite 107520007 Path Lab Specialized Histology Allied Health PALO ALTO, 3375 Hillview Ave, California Evening - 08 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care job. A Brief Overview Embeds and cuts a wide variety of surgical and research tissue, including autopsy specimens, tiny biopsies, lymph nodes, breast tissue and bone marrow. Sections paraffin embedded tissue at 1-7 microns and mounts on microscope slides. Performs a variety of staining techniques for microscopic evaluation. What You Will Do Cut high quality 1-4 micron sections of small and difficult biopsy specimens. Able to cut 50-75 blocks per day while maintaining a high quality product. Perform routine H&E stains as well as routine special stains. Able to organize and prioritize specimens and tasks to produce a high quality product in an efficient and timely manner. Perform quality control on sections and staining procedures to ensure a high quality finished product. Able to work overtime and cover other shifts as warranted by the department. Able to work in a fast paced, high volume laboratory. Must comply with all applicable health and safety policies. Must be able to prioritize and successfully multitask. Participate in a positive manner in all department meetings. Participate in the rotation as department safety officer. Other work related duties as assigned. Committed to customer satisfaction. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $48.38 - $54.48 per hour.
