Sterile Processing Production Coordinator (Lead SPT)

Responsible for coordinating loaner and consignment trays, overseeing SPD production workflow, and ensuring accurate sterilization tracking and communication with vendors, clinical teams, and internal staff.

3rd shift (A) 11pm-7:30am

Start date may take up to 6 weeks due to 2-3 interview rounds

Must live within reasonable commuting distance to Elmhurst, IL

No travelers

Required Certification: CRCST or CSPDT

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all incoming and outgoing loaner and consignment trays
• Verify accuracy and completeness of tray contents before and after sterilization
• Coordinate with vendors, clinical teams, and SPD staff
• Track and document tray movement throughout the sterilization cycle

Production & Workflow Oversight:

• Monitor daily production flow
• Prioritize workloads for maximum efficiency
• Identify and resolve delays, discrepancies, or workflow issues
• Provide guidance and oversight to Production Technicians
• Help establish team performance and accountability standards

Communication & Relationship Management:

• Serve as liaison between vendors, hospitals, surgery centers, and SPD team
• Provide updates on tray status and delivery schedules
• Maintain professional relationships with external partners

Data Accuracy & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate documentation in tracking systems
• Record tray movements and sterilization data
• Generate reports on activity, production volume, and performance metrics
• Ensure documentation meets regulatory compliance standards

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-5 years of Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience
• Strong experience in loaner and consignment tray management
• Experience coordinating with vendors, leadership, and clinical teams
• Strong organizational and tracking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Experience with instrument tracking software
• Strong attention to detail and proactive work approach
