CNC Lead / Manufacturing Lead

First Shift

Position Summary

Lead and support daily operations within an assigned production area by providing work direction, training, problem-solving, and ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform machine operations, setups, and minor program adjustments on Haas Vertical Milling Machines.
• Inspect parts using calipers, depth gages, thread gages, pin gages, and other precision measuring tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and complete required production documentation.
• Train and cross-train employees on machine operation, standard work, and procedures.
• Support daily production activities, staffing, workload organization, and material availability.
• Identify and resolve production, quality, and material issues; communicate concerns to the Supervisor.
• Participate in Lean manufacturing activities including 5S, Kaizen, SQDCC, process improvement, and daily performance tracking.
• Conduct safety checks, process audits, equipment checks, and update standard work as needed.
• Support continuous improvement and process development initiatives.
• Maintain production boards and help identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, including Email and Excel.
• 3+ years of Haas Vertical Milling Machine operation experience.
• 1+ year of experience setting up new product runs on Haas Vertical Milling Machines.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Previous experience leading, training, or mentoring employees.
• CMM knowledge preferred.
• 3+ years of Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Stand for extended periods, up to 8+ hours.
• Lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and work in tight spaces.
