Key Responsibilities Lead and support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and review financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and supporting footnote schedules. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and detailed supporting workpapers. Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting packages, management reporting, and audit support. Perform balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses, investigating significant variances and providing meaningful explanations. Support the accounting and reporting for upstream oil and gas activities, including production, revenue, lease operating expenses, joint interest activity, and other exploration and production transactions, as applicable. Research and apply U.S. GAAP to complex accounting matters and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards. Partner with operations, land, production, reservoir, and finance teams to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information. Maintain and improve reporting processes, internal controls, and accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and reporting quality. Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and assisting with audit deliverables. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA preferred 4+ years of accounting and/or financial reporting experience. Public accounting experience highly preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation. Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
