Neurotrauma Research Professor (Adjunct/In Residence)

Position Description Assistant/Associate/Full Adjunct or In Residence Professor. The Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking an Adjunct or In Residence Professor faculty position without salary (WOS) to be concurrent with their paid full-time position at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs (SFVA). The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full in the Adjunct or In Residence series depending on qualifications and interests. Faculty in the Adjunct Professor series are individuals who are predominantly engaged in research or other creative work and who participate in teaching, or individuals who contribute primarily to teaching and have a limited responsibility for research or other creative work; these individuals may be professional practitioners of appropriate distinction. Appointees with titles in this series also engage in University and public service consistent with their assignments. Requirements Candidate must possess a MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or an equivalent degree Candidate must have a background in translational neurotrauma research with specific additional expertise in data science/machine learning documented by doctoral work, publications, and grants The candidate will have publications and demonstrated capability to compete for grants in the areas of Traumatic Brain Injury, data science/machine learning, biomarkers, and multi-scalar data analysis The candidate will have a history of publication in both animal and human studies related to TBI and data science Applicants must also be eligible for appointment at the VA.
