ARDMS Echo Tech | Cardiac Sonographer

Provide expert cardiac diagnostic services and support patient care by delivering timely and accurate reports to physicians, aligned with departmental mission and policies.

Schedule: Saturdays, 8am-2pm (Part-time, 12 hours biweekly)

Essential Responsibilities:

• Adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms proficiently, including 2D, 3D, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiograms as requested by physicians.
• Use independent judgment for real-time and offline manipulation of echocardiographic images to capture, display, and analyze data.
• Review patient medical history and symptoms to ensure accurate diagnostic testing.
• Prepare preliminary reports for cardiologist review, including comparisons with previous studies.
• Maintain ICAEL accreditation requirements by completing continuing medical education, updating policies, and protocols annually.
• Assist in organizing and preparing ICAEL accreditation applications.
• Process patient billing according to established procedures.
• Apply clinical judgment considering patient age, diagnosis, and physical condition.
• Engage directly with patients and physicians during receipt, review, scanning, and reporting of echocardiograms.
• Promote a safe environment focused on patient safety.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree in Ultrasound Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent allied health education.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Must obtain certification or registration within one year of employment from one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).

Day shift in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
